Activists in several U.S. cities held marches and demonstrations Saturday against the biotech company Monsanto which produces genetically modified seeds.<br/> <br />Protesters say the seeds are dangerous and harmful to the environment. Monsanto though insists its products are safe and help farmers produce more crops.<br/> <br />Demonstrators held signs and banners and chanted slogans. (nats) Organizers of the March Against Monsanto say protests were being held in more than 44 countries around the world Saturday.<br/> <br />Genetically modified plants are grown from seeds that are engineered to resist insecticides and herbicides, and to increase crop yield.
