PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL<br/> <br />(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />A fire at a granary in northeast China has wiped out around $16 million of grain (100 million yuan), state media reported on Saturday (June 1).<br/> <br />The fire broke out at around 13:15 (0515GMT) on Friday (May 31) at a large open-air national granary in Daqing in Heilongjiang Province, China's state television CCTV reported.<br/> <br />The fire destroyed an estimated 53,000 tons of grain but no casualties have been reported so far, CCTV said.<br/> <br />Local authorities told CCTV that the fire was finally extinguished on Saturday morning, an operation made more difficult by high temperatures and windy weather.<br/> <br />An investigation is underway to find out how the fire started, state Xinhua news agency said.
