ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Volunteers piled up sandbags to keep the swollen Vltava River from overwhelming Prague's historic center on Monday as the worst floods in a decade hit the Czech Republic.<br/> <br />Soldiers erected mobile metal fences and volunteers built walls of sandbags around the capital while road traffic was diverted across the capital.<br/> <br />Levels on the Vltava River, which cuts through Prague's center, continued to rise on Monday. A spokeswoman for the state river management company said the levels could peak in the afternoon likely at half the level recorded in 2002.<br/> <br />Officials in Prague, the Czech capital listed by the U.N. cultural agency as a World Heritage Site, said they did not anticipate the waters of the swollen Vltava River, which runs through the center, would reach the 2002 levels.
