Al Qarra - The Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe on Friday ruled that parliamentary and presidential elections must take place before July 31 and that president Mugabe must set a date for them before parliament’s term ends on June 29, triggering a political row over the timing and funding of the polls <br /><br />These elections would entail the end of the unity government led by President Mugabe and his rival Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. <br /><br />For now, the country is facing the challenge of raising $ 132 million to finance the election. <br /><br />President Robert Mugabe, 89 years old, has been in power since 1980. He is a candidate for his own succession.
