Police search a truck they believe was used to abduct a 30-year-old American woman, who was later gang raped near the Indian resort town of Manali.<br/> <br />On Thursday, investigators said they had arrested three men in their early 20s suspected of being involved in the case.<br/> <br />The woman, who has not been identified, was reportedly picked up by the three men in a truck as she tried to hitch hike back to her guest house Monday night.<br/> <br />Officers are questioning the suspects, said the district superintendent, but will only charge the men after they are identified by the victim.<br/> <br />He added that they have strong evidence the three are guilty.<br/> <br />The case has thrown fresh scrutiny on India's high rate of sex crimes against women.<br/> <br />Several tourists have been targeted following the brutal gang rape of a 23-year-old Delhi woman in December, who died of her injuries.<br/> <br />The incident prompted national outcry and put pressure on politicians to do more to protect Indian women.
