The Prince Igor opera gets revamped

The Bolshoi theater is having another go at Prince Igor opera with the new production staged by a famous Russian stage actor and director Yuri Lyubimov.<br/> <br />The new Prince Igor is shorter with Lyubimov cutting out some famous parts of the opera and bringing in new ones, leaving only the classical Polovetsian dances untouched.<br/> <br />Vasily Sinaisky, the Bolshoi chief conductor, says that such a new structure of the opera was conceived to make it more dynamic and intense.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Vasily Sinaisky, the Bolshoi chief conductor, saying (Russian):<br/> <br />"You know, usually we structure it (performance) the way that it starts actively and then it cools down.
