Al Qarra - In Ghana the police have arrested 150 suspected illegal miners from China. The suspects, are being detained in the capital Accra. They will be deported after an investigation. <br /><br />According to Ghanian authorities, the Chinese have been illegally operating gold mining in 4 regions: including the Central Ashanti region, as well as the eastern and western region. <br /><br />In recent years, Chinese nationals, mainly from Shanglin, have been smuggled into Ghana. Drawn by illegal gold mining, there could possibly be 50,000 undocumented workers in the country since 2005. A situation which has forced Ghana’s president John Dramani Mahama to take action.
