Istanbul awakes to early morning confrontation.<br/> <br />The numbers of security forces and protesters have grown following an overnight police raid on Gezi Park and Taksim Square.<br/> <br />The police crackdown and Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's ultimatum to clear the area ahead of a ruling party rally has drawn more demonstrators to the streets.<br/> <br />One man said he walked nearly 10 hours from the Asian side of the city to reach the area of central Istanbul that was attacked by security forces.<br/> <br />Another protester who is a doctor said many were injured in the raid.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) UNIDENTIFIED PROTESTER AND DOCTOR, SAYING:<br/> <br />"If you go down on the street you will see hundreds of wounded people.
