Anti-G8 demonstrators march through central Belfast on Monday carrying red flags and anti-G8 placards, as world leaders gathered in Northern Ireland for the start of a Group of Eight summit.<br/> <br />Amid tight security, riot police were quick to intervene in the flash protest and escort a handful of demonstors away from the scene.<br/> <br />Meanwhile, politicians such as French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta, arrive in Belfast ahead of the summit.<br/> <br />The ongoing conflict in Syria is expected to be high on the agenda.<br/> <br />In anticipation of talks, the non-governmental organisation Oxfam staged a stunt in front of Belfast's City Hall urging G8 leaders to agree on a solution to stop the Syrian civil war.<br/> <br />Flowers were laid next to rows of white gravestones with inscriptions reading: "93,000 Lives Lost In Syria".
