ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br /> <br />The American "Daily Show" satirist Jon Stewart appeared on Egyptian TV on Friday, hosted by the man known as ''Egypt's Jon Stewart.''<br /> <br />Host Bassem Youssef has been in hot water in recent months, facing investigation for insulting the president and Islam.<br /> <br />Stewart came on Youssef's show known as 'The Programme' - El Bernameg in Egyptian Arabic - and praised Youssef for taking risks. He also poked fun at Egypt's ruling Islamists and others during the show.<br /> <br />Youssef is a former cardiologist whose online comedy clips inspired by Stewart's show won him wild popularity leading to a prime-time TV slot after the 2011 uprising that ended the 30 year rule of Hosni Mubarak.<br /> <br />The host paid tribute to his guest as a personal inspiration and the pair traded gags over Stewart's impressions of his visit to Cairo.<br /> <br />Youssef was released on bail after being questioned in March over allegedly insulting Islamist President Mohamed Mursi.
