Thousands march in Santiago to promote equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Chileans.<br/> <br />They are also demanding legislation reform to allow same sex couples to marry.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) DEMONSTRATOR, NATALIA CONTRERAS, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Here in this country, unfortunately there is a lot of discrimination for sexual issues, at universities, work and everywhere really."<br/> <br />The government is looking at a bill that would ease restrictions for unmarried couples who live together, whether gay or straight, to access joint bank accounts, health insurance and pension plans should a member of the couple die.<br/> <br />The march is the 13th annual parade staged in the traditionally Catholic country.<br/> <br />Argentina is the only Latin American country that grants same-sex couples full marriage rights, although parts of Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay allow gay couples to have civil unions.
