South Africans prepare to say goodbye to Mandela

Well-wishers leave mementoes at the Pretoria hospital where Nelson Mandela is being treated for a lung condition.<br/> <br />On Monday, South African President Jacob Zuma said the 94-year-old anti-apartheid hero and former president remains in a critical condition.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) SOUTH AFRICA PRESIDENT, JACOB ZUMA, SAYING:<br/> <br />"The doctors are doing everything possible to ensure his well-being and comfort, we thank the media for support and keeping the public informed during this difficult time."<br/> <br />South Africans are praying he gets well, but are also preparing to say goodbye to the man who is seen as leading the country's struggle from apartheid to democracy.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL RESIDENT, ANDRONICA, SAYING:<br/> <br />"But I think in time, we can learn to accept it you know and move forward."<br/> <br />Members of his family also visited the former leader on Monday.<br/> <br />This is the fourth time Mandela has been hospitalized in six months.
