Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi is out.<br/> <br />The head of Egypt's military forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi made the official announcement in a televised address effectively confirming Mursi's removal from office.<br/> <br />He called for suspension of the constitution and the appointment of the head of the constitutional court as interim head of state.<br/> <br />Sisi called for presidential and parliamentary elections.<br/> <br />The news prompted celebrations where thousands had been gathered in Tahrir Square --- all of it a stark contrast to the smaller, less exuberant crowd who gathered in support of Mursi outside a mosque.
