The bombardment of Homs goes on.<br/> <br />Amateur video which could not be independently verified by Reuters appears to show the ongoing shelling of Syria's third largest city.<br/> <br />The footage comes as the international Red Cross has appealed for a halt to the fighting in the old city of Homs. They hope to deliver much needed supplies to citizens trapped by the war.<br/> <br />The uprising has become increasingly violent with more than 100,000 killed in a conflict that began with peaceful protests more than two years ago.<br/> <br />As the war rages across the country U.S. President Barack Obama told Saudi Arabia's king on Friday that he is committed to providing U.S. support to Syrian rebels.<br/> <br />No U.S. arms have reached the Syrian rebels, who are struggling to hold back an offensive by the Syrian government.<br/> <br />The American weapons have been caught in a Washington impasse as some members of the U.S. Congress fear the arms will end up in the hands of the wrong people.
