A wildfire blazes across southern California

STORY: A wildfire east of Los Angeles triggered the evacuation of about 100 homes Wednesday, blazing into the night and early Thursday morning.<br/> <br />The 19,000 acre, or 7,700 hectare-large wildfire charred parts of the San Bernardino National forest, according to the U.S. Forest Service.<br/> <br />Three-thousand firefighters have been tasked with containing the flames, and water air-drops are being conducted along with some 17 helicopters and 10 air tankers.<br/> <br />No official estimate has been released yet as to the number of people who could be at risk in the nearby desert, resort communities, like Palm Springs.<br/> <br />No fatalities have yet been reported.
