Days after Malala Yousufzai's electrifying speech to the United Nations on July 12, a letter from a Taliban commander to the young activist was made public.<br/> <br />In the letter, verified as authentic by the Taliban, Adnan Rasheed says he regretted her shooting last year by militants.<br/> <br />He called on her to come back to Pakistan, join a female Islamic school and use her pen for Islam.<br/> <br />Malala Yousufzai was hospitalised in October of last year after being shot in the head by Taliban gunmen as she left school in Swat Valley.<br/> <br />She was flown to Britain for treatment and has not returned since due to persistent threats against her.
