ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />STORY: Heavy rains caused severe flooding in northern Mexico on Friday, leaving dozens stranded, hundreds homeless and the international airport inundated.<br/> <br />Rescuers lowered helicopters to extract men, women and children from homes and vehicles in danger of being swept away in the city of Chihuahua.<br/> <br />Meanwhile, the rains floodwaters spilled into the Chihuahua International Airport, forcing it to temporarily close.<br/> <br />Passengers could be seen wading through ankle-deep water. Airport authorities said at least 15 flights had been canceled.<br/> <br />The airport will remain closed indefinitely, according to authorities.
