This aarti is sung in praise of Goddess Parvati who is the divine consort of Lord Shiva, the Trinity God. Goddess Parvati is also considered as a representation of Shakti or Durga. Maa Parvati is represented in Hindu mythology as being a mediator in the conflicts of heaven. Parvati is the daughter of the Great Himalayan Mountains and the divine sister of Goddess Ganga. <br />Aarti is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities.
