This is journalist Anna Politkovskaya, killed almost seven years ago in Moscow.<br/> <br />A reporter for the Novaya Gazeta Newspaper, the 58 year old was shot several times in the head, chest and shoulder at point blank range in her own apartment building.<br/> <br />On Wednesday, a Moscow court began the trial of five men accused of her murder.<br/> <br />But Politkovskaya's family have already criticised the case.<br/> <br />Her children released a statement saying they would not participate after the court refused to postpone until next week when they could take part.<br/> <br />And a spokesman for the Novaya Gazeta said authorities were trying to time the trial to coincide with the anniversary of Politkovskaya's death.<br/> <br />She said it was not right in terms of the law and in terms of fairness and conscience.<br/> <br />Politkovskaya was killed on October 7th 2006.<br/> <br />At the time of her death she had been investigating human rights abuses in Chechnya and high-level corruption across Russia.
