Ever since he was made the chief of BJP's poll campaign committee, Narendra Modi appears to have lost interest in Gujarat. Travel to Delhi and other states has increased and, even while in Gandhinagar, he does not have time for bureaucrats and he spends most of his time planning for 2014 elections with his core group of strategists and publicists. Major portfolios earlier held by Modi like general administration, administrative reforms and training along with Narmada and Kalpsar have been handed over to Anandiben Patel and Saurabh Patel. An appointment of a deputy chief minister is on the cards to run the administration. He was busy last week reviewing details of 26 Lok Sabha constituencies of Gujarat and having marathon meetings with party leaders.
