The Indian government is planning to roll out a landmark scheme to provide subsidised food to two-thirds of the country's population.<br /><br />More people will be able to buy rice and grains from discounted food shops, paying substantially less for basic needs.<br /><br />It is an attempt to reduce hunger in a country of more than one billion people.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Karishma Vyas reports from New Delhi.
