The seemingly never-ending case against former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak took its latest twist on Wednesday, when a judge ruled that he could be released pending further investigation into corruption charges against him.<br /><br />Observers say Mubarak cannot be held any longer for legal reasons but given the country's state of emergency it could be difficult to predict what the final outcome could be. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith reports from Cairo, Egypt.
