A woman in the US state of New Mexico is hoping to draw national attention to what she calls the growing problem of women in abusive relationships being ‘branded'. Dawn Maestas was herself the victim of domestic abuse. She says many women are now being forced to accept tattoos from controlling partners and that leaves psychological as well as physical scars.
