The Duchess of Cambridge made a surprise appearance alongside her husband Prince William on Friday (August 30), her first public engagement since the birth of their son, Prince George.<br/> <br />Catherine, or Kate as she is popularly known, showed up at the start of an ultra-marathon in Anglesey, North Wales.<br/> <br />The couple have lived in the area for several years, but are due to leave very soon.<br/> <br />The newborn Prince did not attend, but Kate said he was a model baby.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) Duchess of Cambridge, saying (English):<br/> <br />"He is sleeping at the moment, hopefully it will be like that for a little bit longer."<br/> <br />The royal couple spent around an hour at the event and Prince William rang the bell to officially start the three-day 135 mile race.
