After meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House, U.S. Senator John McCain said that a vote by the U.S. Congress against Obama's proposal for using military force in Syria would be "catastrophic."<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, SAYING:<br/> <br />"We had what I think was a very productive conversation. Both Senator Graham and I are in agreement that now that a resolution is going to be before the Congress of the United States, we want to work to make that resolution something that a majority of members of both Houses can support. A rejection of that -- a vote against that resolution by Congress, I think would be catastrophic because it would undermine the credibility of the United States, and the U.S. president, and none of us want that."<br/> <br />He said the White House still faces a tough sell to congress.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) SEN.
