In order to avoid a repeat of 2009, the BCCI is contemplating over shifting the whole or a portion of the seventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) out of the country in the wake of general elections next year. The board is thinking to play some matches in Sri Lanka or Bangladesh. In 2009, second season of the cash-rich T20 tournament was played in South Africa to avoid possible overlap with Lok Sabha elections.
