White gets posthumous Walk of Fame star

Barry White was given a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday (September 12) - the 2,506th on the famed sidewalk.<br/> <br />White's wife, Glodean, was on hand to accept the honor, as was Berry Gordy, the founder of the Motown record label.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Berry Gordy saying (English):<br/> <br />"He was a big guy with a big sound and a big heart. One of a kind, and he was always good to me and my family. I'm thrilled that Barry White is getting his long overdue star right here on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."<br/> <br />White, a two-time Grammy Award winner, was known for his rich bass voice and enduring hits like "You're The First, The Last, My Everything" and "Can't Get Enough of Your Love."<br/> <br />He died of heart and kidney failure in 2003 at the age of 58.
