Germany's general election on September 22 could put the country's first-ever black member of parliament into office.<br /><br />Dr Karamba Diaby, a member of the Social Democratic Party, was born in Senegal and orphaned when he was seven.<br /><br />For 12 years he has been a German citizen and is now running for office.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Nick Spicer reports from Berlin.
