Insurgents including a suicide car bomber attacked the U.S. consulate in the western Afghanistan city of Herat on Friday, police said, and a gun battle was under way.<br/> <br />It was unclear whether insurgents had made it inside the consulate building in relatively peaceful Herat, the main city in Afghanistan's west near the Iranian border.<br/> <br />Some media reported up to seven people had been wounded.
