Miss New York, Nina Davuluri made history during this year's 2014 Miss America competition on ABC by becoming the country's first Miss America of Indian descent.<br/> <br />By winning, Davuluri brought the highly sought after crown back to her home state of New York for a second year in a row.<br/> <br />The 24-year-old aspiring physician defeated contestants from 49 other states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, after performing a Bollywood fusion dance and answering a question about plastic surgery.<br/> <br />The coveted title came with of course the sparkly tiara and a scholarship prize of $50,000 U.S. dollars.
