Veteran shoe designer Manolo Blahnik puts spring into the step with a colorful collection of decorated high heels, flats, and sandals, showcased during London Fashion Week.<br/> <br />For Spring 2014, the Spanish born designer said he was inspired by the Baroque artwork of Tiburzio Baldini, and American turn of the century artist John Sargent.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Shoe Designer, Manolo Blahnik, saying (English)<br/> <br />"I was looking some Baldini paintings of society ladies and things like that and Sargent also too and I realized how wonderful those things they were and I based some of these ideas that I saw on this pictures on that."<br/> <br />Despite designing shoes for four decades, the intimate presentation was Blahnik's debut at London Fashion Week.<br/> <br />The 70-year old shoemaker is among scores of designers showcasing their new collections during the week-long fashion fiesta in London that will wrap up on Tuesday, September 17.
