Ancient ruins inspire Dolce & Gabbana's new collection

ROUGH CUT (NO NARRATION)<br /> <br />STORY: Dolce & Gabbana showcased their new collection at Milan Fashion Week on Sunday (September 22) to an audience of fashion editors, buyers and bloggers. Models walked down the runway to music taken from the films of Italian director Federico Fellini, creating a romantic setting for the show. The designers were inspired by the ideas of 'myth and reality' coming together on an 'imaginary journey to rediscover ancient Sicily' the Italian island where the designer Domenico Dolce is from. Dresses were decorated in an ornate style, with almond tree flowers put on to the fabric to create a 3D effect. Other almond flowered patterns were printed or handpainted on to to the materials. The images of ancient Greek temples and theatres were also printed on to skirts, blouses and dresses.
