The four speed option lets you slow down on heavily packed surfaces and the ability to change the direction of throw on the fly is fantastic. I recommend that you change the oil before starting it for the first time because the manufacturer uses some strange shipping oil. I charged the battery, gave it half choke and it started immediately and it runs great. The 200cc motor gives this tool plenty of power to clear heavy snow. I highly recommend this model.
