It's an Island born from a disaster. Just a day earlier, this island didn't exist. It literally popped up overnight.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Spokesman for The National Disaster Management Authority, Brigadier Mirza Kamran Zia saying:<br/> <br />"Its extraordinary in the sense that it doesn't happen very often."<br/> <br />Pakistan's earthquake, with its magnitude 7.7 tremors apparently forced the sea bed to rise up --- creating this ---- in the Arabian Sea, just 600 meters from Pakistan's coast --- astonishing locals (still of locals looking at it)<br/> <br />Mirza Kamran Zia of the National Disaster Management Authority says this has happened here before, but not since the 1940s. Scientists were quick to examine the island's rocky terrain.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE:Spokesman for The National Disaster Management Authority, Brigadier Mirza Kamran Zia saying:<br/> <br />"They are trying to take samples but so far its emitting methane. We really don't know at this stage the exact composition of this particular island."
