Originally published on August 10, 2013<br /><br />A Virgin Australia plane reversed into a Jetstar aircraft at Melbourne Airport on August 10.<br /><br />The incident occurred when the Virgin flight with 175 passengers on board was being pushed back on the tarmac in preparation for take-off about 9.30am. It was reported that the aircraft was pushed back to an extent that the end of its left-hand wing had cut off the tail cone of a stationary Jetstar aircraft. It is understood that the Jetstar aircraft only had flight crew on board at the time of the incident. No one was injured.<br /><br />The Jetstar aircraft was significantly damaged and it was likely to be grounded for several days.
