Originally published on August 2, 2013<br /><br />U.S. paddleboarder Ben Friberg began his attempt to stand-up paddle from Havana to Florida on August 1.<br /><br />Friberg aims to cross about the 170-kilometer distance between the Cuban coast and Key West in about 20 hours. This voyage seeks to impose a record for paddleboarding.<br /><br />This is not Friberg's first long distance trip.
