Originally published on July 30, 2013<br /><br />At least 15 people were killed in a series of explosions in northern Nigeria on Monday, according to Reuters. The bomb blasts occurred in Kano, Nigeria's biggest northern city. The attackers targeted bars in a Christian district in the largely Muslim city.<br /><br />Several packages containing improvised explosive devices were placed and detonated around the area, which was previously targeted by Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
