This is the perfect cookie for the upcoming holiday season!<br />Makes about 48<br /><br />1 cup (250 mL) softened butter <br />1 cup (250 mL) granulated sugarpinch salt1 egg<br />1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon <br />1 tsp (5 mL) pure vanilla extract <br />¼ tsp (1 mL) ground nutmeg <br />2 cups (500 mL) flour<br />icing sugar for dipping your fork<br /><br />Method:<br /><br />Preheat oven to 350°F (180ºC)<br />Cream butter, granulated sugar until light and fluffy.Then beat in salt, egg, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg . Gradually beat in flour on low speed until well mixed. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.<br />Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on parchment lined baking sheets. Gently flatten cookies with a fork that you've dipped in icing sugar.<br />Bake for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges.<br />Cool cookies on baking sheets 1 minute, then cool completely on wire racks.
