Give me the old New Orleans Jazz Sayles Emanuel 1979 <br />Emanuel Sayles was one of the key rhythm man in New Orleans. He has recorded with many of the early New Orleans jazz musicians and was a well known member of the different Preservation Hall jazz bands. <br />In 1979 Emanuel was invited to perform at one of the Peter Appleyard jazz shows in Toronto. This charming gentleman plays a gentle banjo and sings one of his compositions "Give me that old New Orleans Jazz". <br />I have seen Emanuel many times during my trips to New Orleans in the seventies. He was usually part of a solid New Orleans rhythm group in Preservation Hall, so it is indeed a revelation to see and hear him perform as a soloist.
