A 4-year-old boy from Aliso Viejo, California has pulled a snail out of a wound on his knee after he scraped himself at the beach weeks earlier.<br /><br />Paul Franklin had gone to the beach with his family on July 20 and tripped over a rock along the beach, scraping his knee. Soon after the incident, the scratch became infected and turned Paul's knee into the size of an orange, his mother explained. <br /><br />"We just cleaned it up, put a Band-Aid on it," his father, Ken Franklin, told CNN affiliate KCAL. "Before you know it, a couple weeks later, his knee was very swollen and somewhat infected."<br /><br />Three weeks later, the wound had gotten so bad that Paul's mother decided to drain the wound and used her fingers to pop out a black rock-like substance.
