A October snowstorm hits the central Rocky Mountains, downing trees and forcing state offices to shut down Friday.<br/> <br />Hundreds of miles of Interstate 90 across parts of Wyoming and South Dakota were also closed down.<br/> <br />The storm dropped more than 35 inches or close to 100 centimeters of snow in parts of the Black Hills region of South Dakota.<br/> <br />Night footage out of Casper, Wyoming shows snow coming down as Oklahoma and Kansas brace for severe storms.<br/> <br />The National Weather Service, which is running on a reduced staff because of the government shutdown, issued blizzard and severe winter storm warnings across the Upper Plains through Saturday morning.
