Canadian author Alice Munro, 82, has been awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize for Literature.<br /><br />Peter Englund, permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy, made the announcement, calling Munro a "master of the contemporary short story".<br /><br />Munro is only the 13th woman to win the prestigious Nobel.
