The fashion magazine, Elle honored eight women for their impact in Hollywood and the film industry Monday night. (October 21)<br/> <br />Comedic actress Melissa McCarthy was among those honored.<br/> <br />The actress, who was featured on the November cover of the magazine in a photo that showed her covered up in a green trench coat, dismissed critics who called the cover fat-shaming, but McCarthy joked about the controversy and explained that it was her choice.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE Melissa McCarthy saying (English):<br/> <br />"I appreciate that people are maybe protective of that kind of thing but it was completely my doing. I went crazy for the coat and I grabbed it."<br/> <br />Oscar-winning Actress Reese Witherspoon, who appeared recently on the cover of Elle, was also recognized.<br/> <br />Among the other honorees included Oscar-winning stars Marion Cottillard and Eva Marie Saint.
