A dramatic rescue in the Mediterranean Sea, captured on video and just now released.<br/> <br />It happened off the island nation of Malta on October 11.<br/> <br />The video was taken from a military aircraft that spotted a vessel in distress.<br/> <br />More than a hundred migrants were plucked from these waters by Maltese armed forces.<br/> <br />They were found about 60 nautical miles from the Italian island of Lampedusa.<br/> <br />In this incident, dozens drowned after their boat flipped over and capsized.<br/> <br />A week earlier -- hundreds died in the same area when a boat carrying Eritrean and Somali migrants sank.<br/> <br />The United Nations says some 32,000 migrants have arrived in southern Italy and Malta this year alone.<br/> <br />Most come from sub-Saharan Africa.<br/> <br />But this year many are fleeing the civil war in Syria or political turmoil in Egypt and other parts of North Africa.
