A woman in Fargo, North Dakota announced she intends to give overweight children concerned letters to their parents instead of candy on Halloween. The self-appointed fat policewoman told radio station Y-94 that it is irresponsible for parents to allow their chunky offspring to indulge themselves on the sugar-amped holiday and will make a point to say so plainly.

Here is her letter, verbatim:

Happy Halloween and Happy Holidays Neighbor!

You are probably wondering why your child has this note; have you ever heard the saying, 'It takes a village to raise a child'? I am disappointed in 'the village' of Fargo Moorhead, West Fargo.

You [sic] child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season.

My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits.

Thank You

The woman, who may have a very good point, is maintaining her anonymity, probably because she fears getting tricks for withholding treats, at the very least. Her critics believe that beyond being a busybody and mean-spirited, her blunt words may damage these young children's sense of self, and probably won't help anyway.

Her supporters see the letter as an act of "tough love" and believe something ought to be done about all the tubbiness in the United States, one way or another.

It remains to be seen if the woman actually follows through with her caddy letter campaign.

--------------------------------------------------------

TomoNews is your daily source for top animated news.
