The former aide of a politician is in critical condition after being shot twice in the head by a man outside a coffee shop in George Town, Malaysia, according to reports.<br />Tan Hock Chin was having drinks with some friends at around 11pm when a man wearing a full-face helmet approached them, The Star reported.<br />According to the New Straits Times, the man pulled out a revolver and shot Tan twice in the head.<br />He then ran 30 meters to a motorcycle where an accomplice was waiting.<br />In his haste to escape the gunman dropped his helmet and his waist pouch containing several rounds of ammunition.<br />The victim was taken to the Sungai Bakap Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Penang Hospital, where he remains in a coma, the Star reported.<br />The family of the man has asked for police protection, according to the New Straits Times.<br />The motive of the shooting had yet to be determined.
