Pakistan's lead government prosecutor in the murder case of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was shot dead in Islamabad today. <br />State prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar was shot multiple times by two unknown assailants who intercepted his vehicle when he was en route to the next hearing at the anti-terror court. It was reported by some sources that the assailants rode a motorcycle and opened fire at him while he was driving. Zulfiqar was shot in the head, shoulder and chest, according to police. Other sources say the gunmen fired from a taxi. Zulfiqar's bodyguard returned fire and was wounded in the attack. <br />The assailants managed to escape the scene. Zulfiqar lost control of his car after being shot, crushing and killing a woman passer-by.
