The artistic director of the Bolshoi ballet has described the moment he had acid thrown in his face.<br /><br />He spoke of a “terrifying pain”.<br /><br />Sergei Filin suffered severe burns after being attacked outside his Moscow home in January.<br /><br />He was speaking at the trial of Bolshoi dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko, charged with plotting the assault, and two other men accused of carrying out the attack.<br /><br />Sergei Kadyrov is the lawyer for the defence: “ We need to consider what Filin has said because he has said a lot of things that were not in his previous testimonies. So a lot of this information is new and I need to process it.”<br /><br />Prosecutors claim that Dmitrichenko colluded with former convict Yuri Zarutsky to carry out the acid attack.<br /><br />Zarutsky admits to throwing the acid, but swears he acted alone. <br /><br />The third man in the dock, Andrei Lipatov, accused of being the driver, has denied any involvement.<br /><br />Sergei Filin has undergone 20 operations on his eyes since the attack and further treatment is required. <br /><br />The trial continues.
