Drug-related clashes in Mexico's western state of Michoacan left five people dead, and half a million without power, last month.<br /> <br />Now, the local Catholic Church has come out strongly against the drug cartels, which it says are responsible for much of the violence.<br /> <br />It has called on the federal government to step in and stop the bloodshed.<br /> <br />Al Jazeera's Adam Raney reports from Tierra Caliente.
