The US Secretary of State says no agreement has been reached yet between world powers and Iran over its nuclear programme. <br /><br />John Kerry has broken off a tour of the Middle East to come to Geneva amid speculation that a deal is imminent.<br /><br />He’s due to meet Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif – saying important issues on the table remain unresolved.<br /><br />“We hope to try and narrow those differences but we don’t think anybody should mistake that there are some important gaps that have to be closed,” Kerry told reporters beforehand.<br /><br />Under a deal it’s thought Iran might agree to limit its nuclear programme in return for a partial lifting of sanctions.<br /><br />Benjamin Netanyahu has said such a “bad” agreement would be the “deal of the century” for Iran and utterly opposed by Israel.
